Subscription could not validate

Created by Liz Paglione, Modified on Wed, 5 Nov at 5:20 PM by Liz Paglione

The "Subscription could not validate" error displays when a Smaart subscription is considered inactive.

Possible causes for this are:

  • Your Smaart subscription license has expired
  • The grace period ended and Smaart was unable to connect to the server and validate your subscription license
  • Smaart is connected to an old, expired license and needs to be connected to a newly purchased license

If your Smaart subscription license has expired, please log into your my.rationalacoustics.com and purchase a new subscription.

If you have an active or newly purchased Smaart subscription, follow these steps below to remove the old expired license and activate the new one:

  1. Click "OK" or "Cancel" and ensure Smaart is closed (not visible on the Dock or Taskbar)
  2. Follow the steps in this article to reset the old Smaart subscription
  3. Smaart should open and prompt for activation
  4. Click Subscription
  5. On the "License Code" screen, delete the old license code
  6. Copy the subscription license code from your my.rationalacoustics.com account
  7. Continue with activation

If you have verified you have an active subscription, but are still receiving this error, please submit a ticket.
