Error 531

Error 531 is a rare error that can occur if the licensing system has issues connecting to the web server during an activation.

If the error is seen by itself, it can typically be resolved by restarting the device and attempting activation again. Sometimes this error can be caused by network or firewall issues, so if restarting does not help please connect to a different network (or cellular hot-spot) and try activation again.

Note: If you're on macOS and you receive the following message when restarting:

Please make sure to uncheck "Reopen windows when logging back in" to ensure Smaart and the licensing system (and any programs/services that could be interfering) fully shut down.

If you receive any additional messages with this error (such as R6 or D26), please contact us immediately. These are even rarer cases that usually stem from deeper issues.

If at any point you receive a message asking to restore a "Missing Activated License", please select "YES". If this message continues to appear, or if it causes Smaart to crash, please let us know.
