Using External Hardware With Smaart RTA Pro

This will serve as a guide on using external hardware with Smaart RTA ProBefore we begin, it's important to note that only the Pro version of the app will allow the use of external hardware.

If you've already purchased the base feature version of the app and wish to upgrade to use external hardware, please refer to this licensing guide.

Using an External Mic

Using an external mic with Smaart RTA Pro is as simple as plugging it into your device's USB-C or Lightning port, then selecting "External Mic" from the "Microphone Settings" menu.

Changing from an internal microphone to external hardware via the Microphone Settings menu.

Using an External I/O Device

Another way to use external hardware with Smaart RTA Pro is to plug a regular I/O device or interface into your iOS device's USB-C or Lightning port, then plug a regular measurement mic into said I/O device. Since Smaart RTA Pro is only capable of single-channel measurement, it will only be able to see and use your I/O device's first input.
