What is L-IFFT?

L-IFFT (Live Inverse Fourier Transform) is an alternate view of the Live IR plot in both Suite and RT editions of Smaart.

This view uses the single time record FFT calculated with every transfer function measurement (in Smaart v9) to plot an absolute time-referenced live impulse response. This has the benefits of a real-time transfer function measurement applied to it: upon generating, all real-time transfer function data averaging and magnitude thresholding mechanisms are already applied. You can then filter this plot with a user-definable octave-banded frequency without needing to use the Advanced Delay Finder.

L-IFFT is an advanced feature that must be enabled via checkbox under the Advanced tab of the Preferences menu, as shown below:

Once enabled, in the IR window, use the LIR plot type dropdown and select "L-IFFT" in the menu that opens to switch to L-IFFT view. You can also switch back at any time!
