How many computer installations can I have with my Smaart license?

The number of installations on a Smart license is determined by the number of license seats belonging to the license. A seat becomes occupied when a Smaart license is activated on a device. If your computer falls into disrepair or you purchase a new computer that you'd like to use for Smaart instead, a license seat can be freed up by deactivating Smaart on the existing computer.

Perpetual licenses of Smaart Suite and RT come with 2 installation seats.
Perpetual licenses of Smaart LE, SPL, and Data Modeler come with 1 installation seat.
Subscription licenses are limited to only 1 seat per subscription (Suite, RT, LE).

You can also purchase additional installation spots for an existing license through your account on https://my.rationalacoustics.com

If you would like to purchase a license with more than the standard installation seats, you may do so by emailing sales@rationalacoustics.com.

Note: Additional installation seats are not available for Subscription licenses.

Adding additional installation seats to your already registered license can be done on the License Details page (accessed by clicking the hyperlinked license code) via the button underneath the license code:

Smaart's license system allows you to "deactivate" the program so you do not need to purchase an additional license seat before retiring a computer from service. Please refer to the Deactivation Help Guide for more information on how this process works.
