New Engine Menu: "Create" vs. "Create and Close"
When setting Smaart up for measurements, sometimes you want to run a large number of measurement engines simultaneously - maybe you want to compare reference signals in real-time or run a setup with multiple microphones. What if I told you there was a quick way to set up several measurement engines in a row, hiding in plain sight?
First, you'll want to open the "New Spectrum [or Transfer Function] Measurement" dialog by using either [Ctrl/Cmd] + [S] for a Spectrum Measurement or [Ctrl/Cmd] + [T] for a Transfer Function Measurement. Once entering a name for your measurement engine and selecting your channel (or channels), you'll notice 2 options available: "Create +" and "Create & Close".
If you'd only wanted to create a single measurement engine, you'd most likely opt for the "Create & Close" option which simply creates the channel and closes the dialog (as you might expect). However, if you're looking to run multiple engines and already know what you want to name them (TF 1, TF 2, etc... or perhaps just 1, 2, 3, etc...), the "Create +" button is quite useful.
Keeping this dialog speeds up the workflow of creating multiple engines, as all you need to do is enter a new engine name (and change device and/or measurement channel, if applicable) and click "Create +" for each new engine. Not having to re-open the dialog for each new engine allows you to "rapid fire" this process, saving you valuable time.
