Signal Issues within Smaart on macOS (Monterey or newer)

Starting with macOS Monterey, Apple has begun introducing changes to the microphone and how it handles permissions. On of these changes is the introduction of "microphone modes" that allow you to change the sensitivity of the microphone for different scenarios -- "Voice Isolation" effectively lowers sensitivity while "Wide Spectrum" raises it.

When an app is actively using a microphone input, the Mic Mode options becomes available in the Control Bar.

When a measurement is active within Smaart, these options become available for the input channel(s) used in the measurement. By default, macOS will leave the Mic Mode on Standard (no changes); however changing this setting will affect the signal level of the measuremenand cause unwanted behavior -- in most cases, this will show up as very low to no signal. Therefore, we recommend disabling Mic Mode (by leaving it on Standard).

If you still are not receiving signal, make sure that Smaart has permission to access the microphone. Otherwise, please create a support ticket for further assistance.
