The RTA 420 is pin-3 hot; what does that mean?

The Rational Acoustics RTA 420 is Pin 3 hot. This means that the polarity of the microphone is reversed compared to most other microphones.

If you are using a single microphone, or all of your microphones are Pin 3 hot, this should not affect your measurement.

If you will be comparing a standard (pin 2 hot) microphone to the RTA 420, this is something to be aware of. Polarity adjustment may be required.
