How to Transfer Data Between v9 Installations
There are a two main methods of transferring data between installations of Smaart: from within Smaart itself and from within your operating system's file management. We'll start with the simplest:
Within Smaart
Moving trace data between versions of Smaart by opening each version/edition of Smaart and dragging traces between the data bar of each copy of Smaart. That is, assuming both copies of Smaart are opened to the matching mode/view to view the data type being moved.
While simple, this is limited to spectrum/TF traces, IR mode .wav files, and SPL logs (assuming both versions/editions of Smaart have the same capabilities). If you're looking to move a mic correction curve, target curve, or other piece of data, you'll need to do it using the second method.
Within Your OS's File Management System: PC
1. First, navigate to This PC > Documents .
2. From here, select your desired Smaart edition. You'll be able to see subfolders containing each different type of file, correlating with each folder names.
3. The "Data" folder specifically contains measurement data, with subfolders correlating to each type of measurement data Smaart can capture:
- Impulse Response .wav files
- Spectrum .srf files
- SPL Log .txt files
- Transfer Function .trf files
4. Simply navigate to the folder containing the data you you wish to move/copy to your second version/edition of Smaart, then drag it either into either its data bar or its corresponding data folder within local storage.
Within Your OS's File Management System: MacOS
This process is nearly identical on both MacOS and PC, although the directory for Smaart's data folder(s) is slightly different, located under: (MacintoshHD) > Documents .
Like on PC, the "Data" folder specifically contains measurement data, with subfolders correlating to each type of measurement data Smaart can capture:
- Impulse Response .wav files
- Spectrum .srf files
- SPL Log .txt files
- Transfer Function .trf files
Like on PC, simply navigate to the appropriate Data subfolder for the file you wish to move/copy and drag/drop it either into Smaart's Data Bar or into that version/edition's appropriate Data subfolder.
