Can I transfer my saved configuration to another device, operating system, or version/edition of Smaart?
Short answer: No
While you can save your current settings to a configuration file to be recalled later, this file cannot be reliably transferred between devices or across operating systems. Some of the settings that are saved contain environment-specific variables relating to the system that Smaart is installed on (i.e. exact directory paths).
Loading a saved configuration on a different device may cause certain features within Smaart to not function properly and can even cause Smaart to crash. Therefore, we recommend starting with a fresh config after moving to another computer (or operating system) and after major Smaart updates.
If you do run into any issues within Smaart after loading a configuration from a different device, close Smaart and delete the entire 'Config" folder from the following location:
Windows - C:\Users\<your_username>\Documents\Smaart [Suite / RT / LE / SPL]
macOS - (MacintoshHD)/Users/<your_username>/Documents/Smaart [Suite / RT / LE / SPL]
(Replace the brackets [ ] section with your edition of Smaart)
Smaart will automatically generate a new 'Config' folder when opened again. If issues persist, please contact support using the links below.
